Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is a faith-based humanitarian relief and development organisation working to save and transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people.  Established in 1984, with an active presence in over 45 countries, we strive to make the world a better and fairer place for those affected by poverty, conflict and natural disasters. 

IRW’s International Programme Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Finance Coordinator’ to join its dynamic team based out of its offices in Marrakech Morocco on a full-time, fixed term basis for 6 months.

The purpose of the role is to manage the Field/Country finance including local partners reporting & reviews, support administration and human resources staff where needed and effective control of all financial matters ensuring reporting and compliance with donors and Islamic Relief financial guidelines

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintain systems and controls to ensure the efficiency, integrity and transparency of the field office and sub-office operations in accordance with guidelines provided by IRW and internationally accepted accounting standards

• Ensure all accounting records and supporting documentation for all financial transactions are maintained in a systematic order and in safe and secure conditions in the field office and  sub-offices where applied.

• Assist and support the Program Manager/HOP & CD/HOM in reviewing the local partners submitted budgets and support in the preparation of budgets for projects proposals and annual/periodic field office budgets to submit to IRW.

• Assist and support the HOP/Program Managers and CD/Head of Mission in ensuring that field expenditures meet Islamic Relief and institutional donor requirements and remain within the approved plans and budgets including the review of Local partners submitted reporting and supporting documentation to verify the expenditure.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance and MBA would be an added value.  Qualified Accountant (parts/full - ACCA/ ACA/ CIMA/ CCAB) or equivalent internationally recognized accounting qualification
  •  Knowledge of ERP and proficiency of its usage
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial matters to non-financial teams
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (both written and spoken)
