Business Development & Partnership Manager – South Sudan

Salary: £35,867 (pending review) Per annum

Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is a faith-based humanitarian relief and development organisation working to save and transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people.  Established in 1984, with an active presence in over 45 countries, we strive to make the world a better and fairer place for those affected by poverty, conflict and natural disasters. 

 

IRW’s International Programmes Division is recruiting for the position of ‘Business Development & Partnership Manager’ in South Sudan. IR South Sudan’s Business Development and Fundraising Unit is responsible for developing and management of Country’s fundraising strategy. The post holder Lead the development and implementation of a fund-raising strategy for IR South Sudan that contributes to programme sustainability and high-quality programming. To achieve this, the unit is entrusted with the duty of establishing and sustaining long lasting effective partnerships and networks with key donors (in country and international) for fund raising. The post holder works to provide effective for IR South Sudan fund raising, grant management, and management of partnership with national and international partners. Moreover, the Post holder will identify and track donor opportunities, and assist with donor engagement, grant preparation, administration, and reporting. Furthermore, the postholder will lead implementation of the core partnership management process, assist partners in the development of project proposals and guiding on compliance with donor requirements.

 

The successful candidate must have:

  • Minimum master’s degree in social sciences, Humanities, Development Studies, International Relation/ or other relevant discipline
  • Excellent English language skills (written and spoken);
  • Relevant experience with an INGO in a senior programme funding position(s) involving proposal development and donor liaison.
  • Experience of developing successful proposals and tender bids to the EU, EC, USAID, SIDA, DFID and the UN as well as other institutional donors.
  • Clear understanding and knowledge of the development issues, particularly those that have implications on people living in poverty or affected by disasters.
  • Knowledge of project management cycle, including project management tools such as Logical Framework Approach/ Result Based Management
  • Capacity to research and analyse significant amounts of information, report on these in a synthetic manner, and take sound decisions on that basis where required.
  • Programmatic expertise on the following themes: humanitarian interventions, DRR, gender issues, conflict, sustainable livelihoods etc.
