The Vacancy
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Email Marketing Officer to join our Marketing team and play a key role in delivering and growing IRUK’s email and SMS marketing programme.
Based from our Waterloo Office, London (with hybrid working), this exciting opportunity will enable you to drive supporter engagement, develop impactful donor journeys and contribute towards increasing awareness, advocacy and fundraising income through effective direct marketing campaigns.
About the role:
The Senior Email Marketing Officer will be responsible for delivering and growing IRUK’s email and SMS marketing programme, managing campaigns from conception through to delivery and evaluation. The post holder will oversee email and SMS marketing platforms, develop supporter journeys and automated communications, drive audience engagement, and provide regular reporting and analysis to optimise campaign performance and maximise results.
Working closely with colleagues across Marketing, Fundraising, Data and Creative teams, you will help ensure campaign messages reach the right audiences through innovative and engaging communications that support IRUK’s mission and objectives.
About you:
You will be a highly organised and results-driven marketing professional with experience in email and SMS marketing, audience segmentation and campaign optimisation. You will be passionate about supporter engagement and motivated by using marketing to deliver meaningful impact.
You will ideally have:
Strong understanding of the major technology-driven changes and trends affecting online media and digital advertising.
Good understanding of KPI development, performance tracking, and campaign reporting.
Demonstrable knowledge of email and SMS marketing, audience segmentation, supporter journeys, and marketing automation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and engaging copy.
Strong copy-editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to apply IRUK branding, tone of voice, and style guidelines consistently.
Experience of delivering email marketing campaigns targeted towards British Muslim audiences.
Proven experience of implementing email marketing programmes and automated customer journeys.
Experience of developing and managing supporter segmentation strategies for marketing purposes.
Experience of user journey mapping and creating engaging supporter stewardship and retention journeys.
Hands-on experience using email marketing platforms, preferably Dotdigital.
Experience of stakeholder and relationship management across multiple teams.
Ability to create engaging email and SMS content and provide direction on associated design requirements.
Good understanding of charity sector marketing and emerging digital marketing trends.
