Regional Admin Support Officer - North West

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Regional Admin Support Officer to support our Community Fundraising team across the North West region. 

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting regional fundraising activities, campaigns and events, ensuring administrative processes are delivered effectively and helping the team maximise fundraising income to support Islamic Relief's humanitarian work worldwide. 

Based in our Manchester office, this role offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference by providing essential administrative support, coordinating volunteers and supporting fundraising initiatives during key campaign periods, including Ramadan. 

 

JOB PURPOSE:  

 

As the Regional Admin Support Officer, you will provide vital administrative and operational support to the Regional Community Fundraising team, helping to ensure fundraising activities, events and campaigns are delivered efficiently and effectively. 

 

You will be responsible for: 

  • Processing donations accurately using internal fundraising systems and ensuring all funds are banked in accordance with organisational procedures 

  • Supporting the day-to-day administration of the regional fundraising team, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and within agreed timescales 

  • Responding to enquiries received via phone, email and social media channels 

  • Producing and dispatching supporter receipts, certificates and other correspondence 

  • Following up fundraising pledges and ensuring income is accurately tracked and recorded 

  • Providing general office administration support, including maintaining filing systems, preparing documentation and taking meeting minutes 

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of regional fundraising events, campaigns and community activities 

  • Preparing, coordinating and managing fundraising materials, merchandise and event resources 

  • Assisting with the transportation, distribution and return of fundraising equipment and promotional materials 

  • Coordinating volunteers and supporting volunteer activities during fundraising campaigns and events 

  • Assisting with the recruitment, induction and training of new volunteers 

  • Maintaining regular communication with volunteers and ensuring they are effectively utilised across fundraising activities 

  • Supporting campaign delivery by contacting local organisations, community groups and partners when required 

  • Maintaining regional social media channels and supporting the promotion of fundraising campaigns and activities 

  • Working closely with the Regional Community Fundraising Manager and Community Fundraising Officers to help achieve regional plans, targets and objectives 

  • Ensuring all administrative activity complies with charity regulations, data protection requirements and organisational policies 

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION 

You will be an organised and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and supporting a variety of projects and activities. With strong administrative skills and excellent attention to detail, you will be confident managing competing priorities while delivering a high standard of support to colleagues, volunteers and supporters. 

 

You will ideally have: 

 

  • Experience working in an administrative or operational support role 

  • Experience maintaining electronic and paper-based administrative, financial and information systems 

  • Experience working under pressure and managing multiple priorities in a busy environment 

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills 

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial and supporter data 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Strong numeracy skills and the ability to accurately record and process financial information 

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

  • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) 

  • Knowledge and understanding of the local community and region 

  • The ability to work independently and use initiative while also contributing positively as part of a team 

  • The ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure 

  • Strong motivation and empathy towards the aims and objectives of Islamic Relief 

  • A positive, flexible and collaborative approach to work 

  • The confidence to represent Islamic Relief professionally in a variety of community settings 

  • Understanding of GDPR, Charity Law and fundraising regulations 

  • A full UK driving licence 

  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly, including evenings and weekends during peak campaign periods
